06-01 Weekly Spending Update

I came in under budget again for the second week in a row. Hooray! Although it was mainly grocery spending I did pick up a couple cheap Blu-rays last weekend.

Today I sprang for a Lowes Gift Card while at Kroger. They are offering 4X Fuel Points for selected GC's through 6/17(I think). So the $25 GC means to an extra 100 fuel points for June, which translates to an extra $.10 per gallon of gas. The GC will be used toward more line for the weedeater and some other home improvement items.

    Sounds like a good plan. One of our Kroger's has the fueling thing and a friend says it is a good deal.

    I like the Kroger Fuel Points program. Starting last month and for the rest of the Summer they are doubling the Fuel Points based on 2X amount spent in the grocery store. Also, at the bottom of the receipt is instructions to complete a survey to get an extra 50 points(limit of 1 survey per every 7 days). So last month, May, I spent $300 in store and completed 4 surveys giving me 800 points. I also use the USBANK/Kroger123 Visa which adds an additional .05 off per gallon. That translates to $0.85 off per gallon of gas on my next fill-up.
